In 1982 Paddy (15) wants to be a pro but the IRA keep bombing mainland Britain and anti Irish feeling is super strong “like” in Sunderland. Luckily Paddy’s dad bribes the club to let him stay three months but when the manager discovers he’s really bad at football, the club has to either pay back the bribe or make his life so miserable he’ll quit early and they pocket the money. But Paddy grinds it out even though the psychotic (Jimmy the Cleaner) makes his life hell. For Paddy starts to realise he’s inside the gates not out and he’s actually starting to pick up some skills… but he’s a dead paddy walking and his luck is about to run out… or is it?
